big winds, big waves and big chop. Cabarete is a spot where people from all over the world come to kite or windsurf. But it`s a shame they also come here to learn how to kite and this is one of the last places you want to go if your new to the sport.
I mostly kite around here ( mtl ) and have been to the cap but most of my kiting has been taken on small chop and flat water.
as soon as pulled my first waterstart and to see the big waves. What a rush, then you have the swells that come after then the chop.
No flat water here.
sun all week long, temp 26 to 34
wind 10 to 20 knots starting up at 2pm end at 6pm. 2 days out of 7 no wind. 2 to 5 knots
when the wind picks up look out there could be over 100 kitters out on the water also the windsurfers, and that is only in the cabarete bay, there is also kitebeach bay with also over 100 kiters. Look out for the locals they like to double handle pass at 1 ft from the beach and land on the beach and take off. Then you have the guys going strapless to the reef to hit the big waves out in the bay. In all i had a blast meeting the local and kiters from all over the world with the same kitedrug as me.
Here are some pics from the spot Cabarete beach. enjoy..next wate session hatteras in 68 dodo..

NOW THIS IS WHY I NEED A NEW SP3 !!!!
