The sailors are generally pretty accepting of kites on the course if they are racing, A few things will help though.. Do not cross above a sailboat if your kite will be above their mast, or if there is any risk that they will need to change course in the event of a mistake/accident. you need to be able to fall off your board, recover and keep going, if you cannot do this in time, the cross is too close for this course. most of the sailors I talk to love seeing us on course, so as long as we do not interfere and remain courteous, there should be no problem. I also never exert any rights or rules situations against them, since there is really no point anyway! They all take each race seriously as they are trying to win a series and we do not want to interfere with that. I think the best way is that we all keep away and only implicate ourselves with each other. We also need to remain well clear of the starting area while they are in sequence.
If anyone is interested in racing but is inexperienced and wants to know more about the rules etc, we can run through the basics on the next thursday that we have a SW. See you down there!
